Sincere Promise was founded by two women: Lucy Berry and Carrie Pemberton Ford.
Lucy’s background is in creating advertising and branding for national and international clients. Carrie’s background is in public sector governance, not-for-profit entrepreneurship and social justice based charitable organisations. We are both ordained clergy whose work has called us to the world.

Each of us have arrived at the conviction that the nearer one stays to the truth, the more it sets you free to do the work you want, for the people you want. This is just as true for organisations as it is for individuals. But organisations are constantly changing; sometimes intentionally, sometimes not. And change can alter the very essence of our activity and its objectives. Some people call it ‘mission drift’. We call it ‘losing promise’.
Whatever you call it, when it happens, truth and sincerity get lost. It happens in two ways; when you lose sight of the initial reasons for starting out – and when you stop delivering your original pledges. There may be good reasons for why this happens. But losing promise generally unsettles your organisation. and it can confuse and discourage your customers and constituencies. Losing promise doesn’t mean that you’ve lost faith, (although it can lead to that), but it does mean that you have lost track. That’s where Sincere Promise stepped in.
